​Our client is one of the UK's leading and most progressive leisure centre operators. They currently have an exciting opportunity and are looking to recruit a Tennis Manager to run their extensive Tennis programme at ther leading facility in Sheffield.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

Be a role model to ensure an inspiring tennis proposition is delivered via high quality results relating to:

Co-ordinating and manage a comprehensive programme of tennis activities and events.

To be responsible for maximising participation and the commercial performance.

To contribute to increasing and sustaining active participation in Tennis across the City.

Key Tasks:

  • Work with key partners to develop a medium and long term strategy for the delivery of tennis at the Leisure Centre; this should incorporate both Leisure Centre and LTA strategic aims.

  • Oversee the delivery of the tennis programme.

  • Co-ordinate the bookings from all departments and maximise the use of available court time.

  • Provide coaching up to 10 hours per week. (Individual 1 to 1s can be delivered outside of these hours up to a maximum of 12h per week and paid in addition).

  • Manage the provision of coaches to deliver the tennis programme.

  • Work to provide coach education and embrace volunteering.

  • Work with the Operations Team to ensure quality of experience and maintenance of the facility.

  • Coordinate projects to enhance the facilities and be responsible for the utilisation of the facility.

  • Develop and drive the Schools Outreach programme. Work with City partners to increase number of the tennis programme from local schools.

  • Oversee the delivery of the community engagement programme.

  • Coordinate bookings.

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of tennis tournaments and events at the centre.

  • Develop work collaboratively with local partners to enhance tennis opportunities in the areas.

  • Work in partnership with groups and people involved in the delivery of sport in Sheffield (To manage the internal and external relationship of the Centre, LTA and any other parties).

  • To build, manage and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships and communication within the organisation and work in partnership with other team members and colleagues outside of the Centre.

  • Prepare, manage and monitor a budget for the tennis programmes and centre.

  • Create and manage income generating activities that can financially benefit the centre.

  • Promote the profile of the tennis programme. This may include, but isn’t limited to, activities such as:

    • ensuring that there are noticeboards, websites, social media and other promotional publications for tennis.

    • engaging with regional and national press.

    • Working with the Marketing Team to ensure a positive image of the centre, the programme and the Company.

  • To develop and deliver tennis opportunities for people with disabilities.

  • Undertake additional duties as requested by your line manager from time to time

  • To be an ambassador for the Leisure Centre and the new vision of British tennis both internally and externally communicating and promoting the vision and direction of the Centre and with passion.

  • Ensure delivery of the High-Performance Programme and performance pathways.

  • Provide outstanding customer service to all stakeholders and visitors, responding quickly with true personal ownership and responsibility in a world-class working environment.

  • Be a role model for the Tennis team.
